Thoracic Surgery Series – Lung volume reduction

LVR surgery is a proven treatment for severe emphysema. In well selected patients there is improvement in symptoms and prognosis. This session discusses patient selection, optimisation, treatment and peri-operative care. Cambridge has one of the largest UK practices with excellent outcomes. Joining Mr Aman Coonar in this session is Dr Ravi Mahadeva, a respiratory consultant at Addenbrooke's Hospital, Cambridge. Dr Mahadeva is Director of the Cambridge COPD Centre, a Member of the NHS England programme working group on lung volume reduction. Clinical and research training in London, Harvard and Cambridge.
