Cardiology Series - Intro to the percutaneous treatment of aortic valve disease

This talk will discuss the pathophysiology of aortic valve disease and available treatments for this. It will provide the background behind the development of transcatheter aortic valve implantation as a technique to treat patients with severe aortic stenosis in high risk surgical patients. We will also discuss the infrastructure required for the development of a successful transcatheter programme with future talks concentrating on valve technology, techniques and trial data.
