About HCI – Health and Care Innovations LLP

HCI are a partnership with a UK NHS Trust, transforming pathways of care using digital information and platforms.  By engaging with patients and clinicians to improve patient education they work with hospitals to make significant reductions in outpatient appointments. Spanning multiple specialties including cardiology, maternity, physiotherapy, and podiatry, they have helped achieve an annual saving of £350,000 in one hospital trust alone.

HCI has produced and implemented an online library of over 700 health information videos that support and educate patients across a range of care pathways, along with a longer term condition app ‘Connect Plus’ so hospitals can manage patient’s co-morbities in one place and have more interaction with their patients through symptom checking and Patient Reported Outcome Measures (PROMs) scores.

 They have a highly skilled team working in the implementation and delivery of large scale digital health projects.  Along with in-house software developers producing apps, e-learning platforms and websites, they also have dedicated graphic designers, experienced videographers and editors, and marketing specialists supporting and driving communications for their clients.

The Health and Care Video Library

A video library with over 700 videos that support patients to manage their care at home. Prevents unnecessary appointments and reduces appointment time which enables more patients to be seen, shortens waiting lists and enables patients to be better informed about their condition. 

The videos are used to replace appointments, as a provision for information before and appointment to shorten consultation time and as a follow up to replace rehabilitation programmes.  The videos are shared an online library connected to a hospital website, via links on appointment letters and through internal digital platforms such as video consultation, text messaging and patient record systems.

22% reduction in angiogram pre-op assessment appointments

10 minutes saved in every podiatry nail surgery appointment
